Are you ready for the end?
Are you going to make it?
Many prophecies target the years 1999 and 2000,
and I'm going to tell you about some of them.
I'll give you the background -
how a runaway comet can extinguish life on Earth -
how it has happened before and how it will happen again.
And I'll tell you what you can do about it.
You can too be one of the survivors!

1. THE BIBLE
A major source of prophecies, it has just been difficult to
determine dates.
The Second Coming of Jesus will be presaged, for instance,
by a solar eclipse - the next is on the 11th of August 1999.
And there will be events typical of the impact of a big comet.
We'll see how this could happen, physically.
2. THE SOLAR SYSTEM
The solar system comprises several small planets travelling in circular paths,
then a large number of asteroids, millions, with at least a hundred thousand of over 100km across.
Some people believe them to be the remnants
of a planet which broke up. It must be a big force to do that!
Then come Jupiter, Saturn, ...
Anyone know what the furthest planet is? Pluto?
Sorry, Pluto's orbit is not circular, and at the moment
it's closer than Neptune.
3. ASTEROIDS
The asteroids are held in place by Mars and Jupiter,
like the moons of Saturn and Uranus, which hold the rings flat.
Asteroids can be pulled into a different orbit by
In early 1999, four major planets will be in conjunction,
and the combined gravitational pull may be enough to loose
many new comets on their way.
4. COMETS AND PROPHETS
It's hard to see comets. We rely on thousands of amateur astronomers who have the patience to look for "wandering stars".
Sister Maria, a polish nun, predicted in June 1993 that a comet
would hit Jupiter before 25. June 1994. She interpreted the event
as a warning and wrote open letters to newspapers, TV stations and
world leaders. Schoemaker and Levy discovered their comet in 1994
and it hit Jupiter with multiple pieces between 16 and 24 June.
Comet Hale-Bopp was a further warning, even leading Clinton and NASA
to announce an investigation into how to destroy a comet heading for
the Earth. The best they could do, with thousands of nuclear rockets,
would be to break it up into little (radioactive) pieces before it hit!
And hope that the gases in the tail are not poisonous.
Nostradamus, who published over 1000 verses of prophecies
between 1550 and 1555, used a complex dating system and
coded metaphors in French and Latin - which has meant that
every translator and reader has interpreted what he wanted.
Nostradamus gave definite dates for only 9 events, ...
"In the seventh month of 1999 (that's September) the great king of
terrors will descend from the sky". This can be combined with
other predictions, such as the Gulf war, a person who will renew
the whole Christian church who was born on the 50th parallel
(which goes through Kracow in Poland, brithplace of Pope Jean-Paul II)
and the third Anti-Christ (after Napoleon and Hitler), destruction of Rome,
invasion from China via Egypt and Turkey, and from Africa into Spain, france and Italy.
Prophetess Jeanne Dixon predicted the deaths of John and Robert Kennedy
and Martin Luther King. She says that a new saviour was born on 5.2.1962
in the middle East. According to Nostradamus, this is the Antichrist,
and he will take power on the date of the darkest total eclipse since
the death of Christ. The next happens to be on 11.8.1999. Destruction
and war will then reign for 27 years, thereafter peace.
5. METEORITES
As evidence of the damage it can do, let me tell you about the
Tunguska meteorite, in Siberia, in 1908. Estimated as
about 20,000 tons, it flattened trees for a distance of 20o km.
If it had hit 4 hours later, after the earth had turned a bit,
that would have been in Europe.
The extinction of the dinosaurs, 65 million years ago, is now
accepted as the result of a comet which landed in Mexico. The
crater is 200km wide and debris landed as far away as Haiti, 1600km.
The sky was darkened with ash for three years, during which time
a small ice age began. Enough to kill any large animals - if they
had survived the earthquakes, volcanoes, poison gas and tidal waves.
6. THE EARTH AS A GYROSCOPE
A large body which just misses the earth will have similar effects:
tidal waves, volcanoes and earthquakes as the crustal plates shift.
As Immanuel Velikovski, Russian physicist, described in the 30s,
a push sideways on a spinning body will cause it to kip over.
Still spinning, but with the axis pointing in another direction.
Could this be why oil occurs under Antartica? Not continental drift?
Velikovski dated the biblical event "the sun stood still"
as 1450 BC - and records from three continents confirm him.
In China the night lasted "10 days". Fortunately for us, I guess,
as the comet passed, the earth flipped back again!
More recently other physicists and geologists have confirmed
such possibilities. They use in particular, evidence of changes
of climate (mammoths quick-frozen in ice) and in the direction of
the magnetic field. (By the way, if the Earth's magnetic field
switches, stay indoors, because for a while there is nothing out
there to protect you from lots of nasty rays.)
7. EDGAR CAYCE
Does anyone know of Edgar Cayce? He's well known in America.
He was called the "sleeping prophet" because of the accurate medical diagnoses which he gave while in trance. His business predictions were pretty good too.
Cayce gave a detailed prophecy in 1934 of events in 1999 and 2000.
a shift of the earth's axis, both polar caps melting, Greenland,
England, and northern Europe flooded, new land in the west Atlantic,
volcanos everywhere in the world, California destroyed
(but we know that will happen anyway).

8. WHAT CAN YOU DO ABOUT IT?
Try to save yourself. Go to a high mountain. Keep away from water.
Find a cave - but don't live in it during the action!
Be self-sufficient in food.

which will be safe through the coming cataclysm.
